Spring Fling VoxBox

So I received my very first and hopefully not last VoxBox from Influenster. If you have no idea what Influenster is then you were like me about a month ago. Influenster is a site that is dedicated to reviews of products were people can go and actually give their true opinion of products. You can earn badges and influense points the more you review. If you actually stay active on the site you can earn enough to be a candidate for a VoxBox, which is a box filled with all kinds of goodies for you to try and review, for free.
I was so excited about getting my very first VoxBox I could hardly wait to tear it open and try out the products. In my Spring Fling VoxBox I received: Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara, Kiss Everlasting French Nails, Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons, NIVEA Skin Firming Hydration Lotion, Softlips Cube, and a Peach Pie Car Freshener from the Labor Day Movie.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara

This was the first product that I tried out, I just love mascara! The Scandaleyes mascara are supposed to give you a 1960s glam look with fuller and thicker looking lashes and a wide-eyed look. Before using the product I prepped my eyelashes with a heated eye lash curler and giving them three good pumps each right at the lash line (a trick I learned in high school by watching the Tyra Banks Show, God I miss that show.) Once my eyelashes were all curled and ready I applied the Scandaleyes mascara. I knew right away from the shape of the brush I was going to be pleased with the outcome. Once I finished applying it I was very happy with the outcome I had absolutely no clumps what so ever! And my lashes did look a lot longer, not really thicker, but they still looked fabulous. I loved using this mascara and I believe it might become my daily!

Kiss Everlasting French Nails

I have never been a fan of press on nails, never. I always found them tacky and they never lasted as long as promised. So when I put on the Kiss Everlasting French Nails I was surprised by how much I liked them. They looked very similar to a set you would get done at a nail salon. I was sent the medium length and I found that length to be a bit to long for me, I had trouble with my contacts and typing. I think that if I do use the product again I will go for the short length. The nails lasted about five days before they started to pop off. They actually did very little damage to my natural nails. I think that over all the Kiss Everlasting French Nails is a great product for people who are looking for an alternative to pricey acrylic and gel nails.

Softlips Cube
I have always been a fan of Softlips. I have used their products since high school and was always pleased with the results; so I knew I would be pleased by the newest product the Softlips Cube. The shape is very similar to that of the EOS lip balms, just not quite as big. And just like EOS it had a very powerful flavor and scent, in a good way. The scent I received was pomegranate blueberry and I really liked it. This 5-1 lip cube hydrates, replenishes, smoothes, protects, and add shine. I think that it did a great job of adding hydration to my lips and it has SPF 15 in it which I love, especially with the summer almost here its important to protect your lips and skin from the harmful UV rays. I am not a big fan of shine, but that is just me. I think this a great product from a great company!

NIVEA Skin Firming Hydration Lotion
This product is the perfect way to get your skin ready for the summer months. It smells great and really hydrates your skin. I’m not sure if the firming has worked yet, that is supposed to take 2 weeks, so I will keep you posted. The travel size bottle is perfect to throw into your purse or car to keep your skin hydrated on the go.

Playtex Sport Fresh Balance
Now I’m not a big fan of writing about such personal things as which tampon I prefer, but hey we all have to step out of our comfort zone at some point right? These Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons have and odor shield and 360 protection. This product is great for anyone who does not want to let their period slow down their active lives. They are comfortable and offer great protection.
Peach Pie Car Freshener from the Labor Day Movie
This adorable air freshener smells just like a peach pie! Once I actually find a car to replace my totaled HHR, I will be hanging it up so I can enjoy the smell of peach pie all summer long!

Thank you so much to Inflenster for sending me these complimentary products for testing, I really enjoyed my first VoxBox

Stay Beautiful,
Jess

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

So first off I want to apologize for not posting sooner! Not a good way to start off my blog, by waiting so long, but life happens. The past few weeks have been crazy and I just haven’t had time to sit down and write. It all started April 16th when my husband and I woke up to water standing in every room of our house! We went to bed that night with it storming and woke up to a flash flood on our street. And the crazy thing is our house was the only one on the street that flooded. After our landlords had the damage looked over, they gave us the option of ending our lease and since we didn’t want to live in the middle of a construction zone for over a month, we ended our lease. That left us with three days to find a new house before they started tearing down the walls. So that raised our stress level to about a 1000. Then came moving day! So exciting…no not at all. We woke up to another rain storm! We checked the weather to make sure there were no flood warnings, which there weren’t, and decided to move small things in our cars until the rain stopped. So after making a few runs to the house, we headed back to our old place to start moving bigger stuff. We found the front yard 2 foot under water! There was water back in the house, so that raised the stress level to about 5000. So we made a few calls to people in Allen’s shop and about three hours later we had everything out of the house. Thank god for those guys who had to carry our furniture above the water and to the U-Haul! You guys are awesome, I owe y'all a cake.

This was our front yard on the day we moved!
There's an article on the first flood here

It turned out that the flooding at the old place was caused by a clogged street drain and the house being between two houses built up on hills. About a week being in our new house, another huge rain storm hit. This one was actually bad enough to cause damage everywhere in the area and surrounding counties. Luckily our new house was spared, but not our cars. Both of our cars got water damage and were ultimately totaled by our insurance company.  So now our stress level was raised to about a million!
On top of all of this the base was having a huge exercise that involved armed forces from all over the nation and world. And of course, my husband was a part of it, so we didn’t have a lot time to figure things out. So we have been on a major time crunch to get everything taken care of! So that’s my crazy Florida weather story! I promise I am working on a few post for the upcoming weeks so stay patient because there are a ton of awesome things planed for my blog!

xoxo,

Jess
