1. A perfect park bag. I have been to Disney so many times and I have taken many different bags! This last trip I finally got a backpack to take and I will never use anything else! The bag shown above is by BUG and it is the exact bag I took with me in December 2014. It have a ton of pockets and the side pockets make the perfect place to keep water. You can find this bag on Amazon here.
2. Rain Poncho. YOU WILL NEED THIS! It doesn't matter what time of year you head to Disney World, you will get caught in the rain at least once. Central Florida is super rainy. I haven't been to Disney yet when it hasn't rained and I've been there during every season. I prefer the actual Disney Park ponchos, they are just better quality than the cheap ones from the dollar store. I got a great deal on them right before we went last year for $5 bucks each and free shipping from the Disney Store online. They are more expensive in the parks, but you can always check online for sales! You can find the Disney Park Ponchos here.
3. Sunscreen. Just like the rain poncho, YOU WILL NEED THIS! Central Florida may be rainy, but it is also really sunny when it isn't raining! You may only think of sunscreen in the warmer months, but it doesn't matter what time of year you head to Disney, you need to stay protected from the sun. Although a lot of rides are indoors and have covered ques, you still spend a ton of time outdoors and in the sun. If you are like me and you hate the icky feeling sunscreen can leave on your skin, you should try Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock. It is my all time favorite and doesn't leave you feeling greasy like most sunscreens do. You can find this sunscreen in most major retailers, or online here.
4. Water. This one is super important! While you are running around Disney from ride to ride, it is easy to forget to drink water. Central Florida is crazy humid and you can get dehydrated easily. The wonderful thing about Walt Disney World is they let you bring in food and drink, just no hard coolers. I like to take in an extra large bottle of water and refill it throughout the day. Bottled water can get pricey in the parks, but you can always get free water from any snack stand or restaurant.
5. Water Enhancer. The fountain water at Disney can taste a little funny to people not used to Florida water. Since I live in Florida I don't really notice a taste but my husband swears it has a strange taste. So to take away the "taste" I always take a water enhancer. My favorite is Mio in the Sweet Tea flavor. You can find Mio in most major retailers.
6. Lip Balm with SPF. Just like your skin, your lips need to be protected from the harsh Florida sun as well. I always take a good balm with SPF to use throughout the day. I love EOS in Sweetmint. EOS balms are sold at most major retailers.
7. Pressed Powder. Most people tend to hit the parks make-up free, but I like to go with at least the bare minimum ( BB cream, mascara, neutral shadow, and liner.) Having a good pressed powder ensures my make up stays put throughout the day. My favorite is the Pixi Flawless Finishing Powder, you can find it at Target and online here.
8. Neosporin. If you are as accident prone as I am, this one is a no brainer. If you get a cut, scrap, blister, anything really you are going to keep it clean and treated.
9. An External Battery. Being in the parks all day and taking pictures can really drain your battery. I always make sure I take a charged up external battery with me in the parks, it really is a life saver!! I love this Lilly one for the Iphone 5 & 6. You can find one similar to the one pictured above here.
10. Camera. There are just some pictures that turn out better with a good camera! I got this really amazing Fujifilm camera from my parents for Christmas and I cannot wait to take it back to Disney! You can find it on Amazon here.
11. Ziploc Bags. I don't take a whole box, but I do take a few. They are good to keep your snacks in, to throw wet ponchos in, and to keep phones, wallets, & keys dry on water rides.
12. Annie's Bunny Fruit Snacks. I love that Disney allows you to bring in your own snacks! One of my all time favorite quick snacks are fruit snacks, because they are delicious, duh. Annie's Bunny Fruit Snacks are not only cute, but organic, vegan, and gluten free. Plus you get your daily dose of Vitamin C! They come in a ton of different flavors, but tropical is my favorite. You can find Annie's Bunny Fruit Snacks and other Annie's products in store at Target.
13. Park Maps. It doesn't matter how many times you have been to Disney, its always a good idea to keep park maps on you! Trust me I've been 14 times and I still need the maps for reference.
14.Band-Aids. Just like I said for the Neosporin I'm accident prone and Band-aids come in handy! I love the Mickey ones from Band-aid brand! I found mine at Target!
15. Granola/Protein Bars. I'm hypoglycemic and when my sugar drops it is not a pretty sight. Running around in the parks all day and longer time periods between meals, really takes a toll on my sugar levels. I always make sure I have some granola or Protein bars thrown in my bag, just in case I start to drop! Plus they make good snacks for waiting in line! My favorite brand is Cascadian Farm! Just like Annie's they are an organic company and their products are yummy!
16. Shine Sheets. Oil absorbing shine sheets are great to keep in your bag for quick touch ups! I've found that the Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets work the best! You can find them at most major retailers.
17. Hand Sanitizer. I cannot stress enough how important is is to keep your hands clean at Disney. Every handle bar, lapbar, guard rail, & hand rail has been touched by like a million other people, most of which are snotty nosed kids! Its important to always wash your hands before eating or drinking, but if you can't make it to the bathroom, the sanitizer comes in handy! Any type will work, I just prefer the ones from Bath & Body Works, because they smell amazing! I used a little holder for mine and hooked it to my back pack strap so it was always easy to get to!
So there you have it, my perfect Disney park bag. I do like to keep all the stuff inside my bag in smaller bags. So I have one little bag for all of my beauty stuff and one back for first aid things. I hope this post helped you guys decided what to take in the parks!
xo,
Jess
